What we do:-

My name is Jackie Bond and I live in South Australia.

I have been a dressmaker for well over 40 years and a porcelain doll maker for around 10 years.

My Dressmaking talents and interests were sort of put on a back burner for a few years once my children grew up.

In 1997 I discovered the art and craft of creating beautiful lifelike porcelain dolls and thus my dressmaking skills were also rekindled.

My love for the art of Modern doll making has grown even more over the years and I continue to seek to learn as much as I can to improve my skills, to this end through the aid of the internet I have made many close friends around the world and have been fortunate enough to have been invited to go and stay with these wonderful ladies from both the USA and the UK.

Being a Nail Technician I developed and mastered the art of applying long acrylic sculptured fingernails to my bigger lady dolls, this was discovered by the ladies on a doll makers E-Group to which I belong in the USA after seeing one of my award winning dolls showing off her beautiful hands online, subsequently I was invited to teach workshop classes at the “ Greater Eastern Texas doll show” in Tyler Texas needless to say I accepted the invitation and I have done this for several years running and I am planning to go back again and again for as long as they will have me, from this came the production of a technical tutorial CD-R along with the availability of a starter kit to teach you step by step to do your own beautiful long nails on your lady dolls, these are available for purchase from either myself here in Australia or from my partner in the USA Kaye Dunn of “ www.keepsakesofvanburen.com “.

I now also run a dressmaking business from my home making beautiful wedding gowns, evening dresses, bridesmaid dresses and flower girl dresses etc. etc.

With this I also offer a service of making a beautiful porcelain doll chosen to look as near as possible to the client whether she be the Bride, Bridesmaid, Flower girl, even a first communion child or life sized baby in a christening robe, a large selection of casting molds are available for you to choose your little lady, little girl or baby from, a choice of eye colour, hair colour and styles are also available.

I also supply Soft Fired greenware from a large range of modern doll molds to anywhere within Australia or overseas and can supply bisque blanks to anywhere nationally or internationally as well as finished dolls, I have been taught to pour, clean and fire porcelain by Mrs Kaye Dunn in the USA and in my honest opinion she is one of, if not The best there is in the business and through her teachings I think you will find I will supply some of the best greenware you are likely to find with very minimal work to do on your part. I have adopted the T.I.B's method of brush cleaning my ware at leather hard stage and have since become the sole distributor for T.I.B's brush kits and tutorial DVD's, I do take great pride in my pouring, cleaning and firing and I do like my customers to have the sort of ware I would like to recieve myself.
